Governor announces Bayou Lafourche, White Castle federally-funded projects

The $2.1 million Bayou Lafourche pump project and the $2.56 million White Castle canal drainage improvement project are among the $34 million in federally-funded regional projects announced by Gov. John Bel Edwards.
The 13 flood risk reduction projects are part of the first round of local and regional projects and programs, according to a news release.
Steering committees for the state’s watershed regions recommended the projects for funding, which the Council on Watershed Management approved.
