AWD Boards & Committees
Acadiana Watershed District Board of Commissioners
The AWD Board consist of appointees from the District's 16 parishes within the AWD and appointees from the Louisiana House Committee on Natural Resources & Environment and the Louisiana Senate Committee on Natural Resources for a total of 18 Board members.
Acadiana Watershed District Technical Advisory Committee
The AWD Technical Advisory Committee is designed to advise the Board on scientific, engineering, and other technical matters.
Technical Advisory Committee member/appointees shall have professional experience in engineering, project management, certified flood plain management, or other drainage-related fields such as geosciences, hydrology, or water management.
The Technical Advisory Committee shall consist of appointees from the following organizations:
- Louisiana Soil & Water Conservation District IV
- Teche-Vermilion Fresh Water District
- University of Louisiana at Lafayette Watershed Flood Center
- Louisiana Natural Resources Conservation Service of the US Department of Agriculture Resources Conservation Division
- Two at large member nominated by municipality(s) with a population of 30,000 or more and meeting the technical qualifications requirement's described above
- Two at large member nominated by municipality(s) with a population of 30,000 or less and meeting the technical qualifications requirement's described above
- Department of Transportation & Development
- Coastal Protection & Restoration Authority
- New Orleans District, US Army Corps of Engineers
