Projects

A roundabout is proposed to be located on the east side of US 90 West where the frontage road intersects Louisiana Hwy 675 and the newly constructed Airport Access Road. This new roundabout will transform the well-traveled route by improving safety and operations of the roadway by reducing conflict points, helping with traffic calming and improving traffic flow.  This project represents an approximate $3 million dollar investment in Iberia Parish.

The LA 92 pavement preservation project is 3 miles long and extends from LA 343 to US 167. The roadway improvements include a mill and overlay, base rehabilitation, and drainage improvements and will include the addition of a left turn lane at the intersection of US 167.  This project represents an approximate $5 million investment in Vermilion Parish.

The LA 353/Lake Martin Rd Pavement Preservation project is a 5-mile surface rehabilitation project along a delipidated section of roadway in St. Martin Parish. Lake Martin Road connects the community of St. Martinville to the City of Lafayette and provides access to Lake Martin, one of the premier natural assets in Acadiana. The project’s total cost is $9 million and consists of milling, base stabilization, surface overlay, and patching.

LA 182 is a roadway rehabilitation project in St Landry Parish. The project starts at LA 754 and runs through the historic city of Sunset, Louisiana, to the Lafayette Parish line. The project has a length of 3 miles for a total cost of $4.2 million. In addition to the roadway surface improvements, a bike lane will be incorporated adjacent to the vehicle travel lanes through the City of Sunset.

The University Avenue Project is a $40,000,000 roadway improvement project to retrofit a disconnected major arterial into a complete street with increased economic opportunity and mobility options for area residents. After completion of a $500,000 planning study along a 1.8-mile corridor of University Avenue in Lafayette, LA, planning strategies, roadway enhancements, and traffic improvements were identified to bring increased business activity, safer pedestrian and transit access, and neighborhood revitalization to the communities serviced by University Avenue. The project has successfully attracted over $50 million* dollars worth of investment into the community via two catalyst sites identified in the plan.

A roundabout is proposed to be located on the north side of I-10 and to the west of LA 343 (Richfield Rd) at the intersection of LA 95 (Mire Hwy) at Lexington Drive.  This new roundabout will create a safer intersection by eliminating left-turn and right-angle crashes and improving roadway operations through the continuous movement of traffic.  This project represents an approximate $5.4 million investment in Acadia Parish.
